Ha. If only it were that easy. I like the world your living in. I wish there were "Video How Tos" with this car. Too new. You would be lucky to find a picture how to... I know there is a thread about changing it out but I don think there are instructions. Best of luck man.

Hey, if you do it yourself.... Take a video of it.

Hello. Just purchased a 2010 Maxima last week. 3.5 SV w/Monitor package. Great car...love it so far. However, whenever I apply the brake at any speed, I immediately hear a one time clicking noise (sounds like it's coming from behind the steering column)...it's quite annoying. Anyone else hear the same clicking? What is this? Thanks.

Only thing I can think of is the switch for the brake lights. I don't hear or notice it in mine. I'll listen to see if I do. Untill then... Turn the radio up louder

I was listening to hear the noise you were talking about this morning and I heard two different things. When in park and the brake applied I was hearing the release on the shifter. The one that doesn't let you shift out of park untill the brake is pressed.

When driving I did hear the switch to activate the brake lights and I'm pretty sure that is what you are talking about. It's not loud at all. I really had to listen close to even hear it. Does it bother you that bad?

Yes, the 2nd clicking noise is the one I am referring to. I'll get used to it. I didn't recall hearing it when I test drove another Maxima so I just wanted to make sure it was normal. Thanks for your help.

You may get an answer or two here, but most of the lease price talk is on the 'How Much Did You Pay' thread. If I were you, I would also post the question on that thread, where lots of folks are discussing leasing.

Sorry about your G35. It was a nice-looking car.

Ordering and Replacing Front Bumper Cover

My first brand new car ever and wouldn't you know it would be sitting in a grocery store parking lot when a big storm hit. You can pretty much assume the rest..... Grocery cart came flying out of nowhere while the car was parked with a great deal of momentum behind it due to the grade of the parking lot combined with the 50 mph winds that accompanied the storm. The lucky part of it all...is that the cart hit the front bumper opposed to one of the body panels which would have been much worse. The cart did a considerable amount of damage considering it was a only cart. Hit the car on side of the nose near the healdlight where it created creases and hit hard enough that the cover bent and is now sitting higher than the fender where it meets at the seam. I took it to the stealership yesterday who quoted me $750 to repair it. That's them simply hiding the creases with some sort of bondo stuff, realigning it at the fender, and repainting it. Being that it's a brand new car, I'd kind of like to think I could get a new cover for that kind of money and would prefer that route. I googled and found the front bumper cover itself for under $300. My question is, does anyone know of a place that would sell these painted? And if so, is it reasonable that I could take the cover off and replace it myself? Just want to make sure I'm not getting in over my head. Don't want to make matters worse... I have a 2010 SV.

The Max will have an entirely different handling feel to that G35. If you liked it, consider a G37.

Hey everyone, I have just bought a Compact Flash card to download the albums that Gracenote cannot find. I have pushed it into the slot but it refuses to show up on the system. Is there a little push button on the right to eject the card? If so that looks to be sitting just below the opening. Anyone else have any issues? Thanks

Not really normal, but this can be any of several things.

Most roads are crowned in the center so that water will run off to the side instead of just sitting on the road. That can sometimes tend to make a car tend to drift to the right.

Find a place where there is no traffic, and steer the car very briefly over to the 'wrong' side of the road. If the car still tends to drift to the right, you probably either have a tire problem or need an alignment.

Carefully check both front tires to see if they are the same size, same brand, same tread depth and inflated to the same psi. If all that matches, I would get an alignment.

If you are hesitant to spend money on an alignment unless you are sure you need one, you could try one more thing first: switch the left side tires to the right side of the car and the right tires to the left. If the pull is still to the right, the problem has to be that it is out of alignment.

+1 The g37 would be a better option and would make an easier transition.

New to the Maxima forums as this is my first post and just had a quick newb question... I am picking up my white 2010 Maxima SV loaded premium. I really would like to put a K&N Typhoon Intake in but havent really read much about anyone that has one. Is this a good intake to put into my MaX? I see there are Stillen out there and Takeda and dont know what to go with. I always had K&N intakes in my cars but still unsure which route to go with this. I really dont want to have to reset the computer to do this as well... Any advice would be appriciated

Does anyone know how to replace the cup holder lid? Looks like I can't order just a replacement lid so I might have to replace the entire cup holder assembly.

One of my co-workers just purchased a new Maxima so I drove it around the block today. The loud clicking noise I hear when I apply the brake on my Maxima is practically non-existent on his. Considering your clicking isn't loud at all and I could barely hear it on my co-workers Maxima even with the radio and air conditioning turned off, I'm suspecting the loud clicking I hear on mine isn't normal (I can even hear it with the radio turned up and air conditioning on). I'm taking it to the dealership tomorrow morning to have one of the mechanics look at it. Perhaps the brake light switch needs to be replaced. Hopefully they can fix it...it's VERY annoying.

Yeah, Skarpachi, its dealer time. I've tried to hear this click, and I'm not sure I have heard it yet. It may well be that the fix is something as simple as replacing the brake light switch.

Wow, you can hear it with the radio on. That's not normal. I understand how annoying that could be. I wasn't trying to downplay your problem with my reply, I was only trying to point out what would be makig the noise. I am not able to hear exactly how loud it is. Sorry if I made you think it was normal and it took you riding in another maxima to realize it wasn't

OK I'm replacing the Headunit in my Non Nav, Non Bose 09 Maxima. I need to run 2 wires from the top of the dash down. Does anyone have a recomendation on the easiest point on the dash to go from top to bottom?

I'm running a GPS antenna and Mic wire.

Also is there a dash dismantling pic guide? I've got the directions to pull the head unit but I also need to run a iPhone/iPod wire to the center console.

O.K. Guys, Heres one for ya. My wife drives an 09 Max premium. Every time I go over a speed bump I hear a swoosh, swoosh sound coming from the front wheel well, Both driver and pass. side. I only hear it with the windows down. I took it to the dealership and the tech checked it out, the tech drove 2 other maximas on the lot (so he says) and said the other ones made the same noise also. Can someone confirm this noise? It happen when going over a speed bump at approx 20mph or so
Thanks
Eric

So I was replacing my factory halogen bulbs to Xenons yesterday .. I had to remove the bumper and grill to do so and in the process I broke the cap off 3 of those plastic screw things under the hood and around the front wheel wells by tryin to pop them out with a screwdriver.. Does anyone know where I could buy replacements?

Hey guys, I was a 6th Gen owner but wrecked it, now I have a 7th Gen. I was told that my old Injen CAI would fit into the new car. Is that valid or bull?
Also, I have a Kenwood audio set to replace the factory radio and was told that the harness hasn't changed from 6th-7th gen. Anyone else heard any of this?

The noise is being made by your shock absorbers as they absorb the energy generated from the bump. I usually only notice it when going over a speed bump at low speed.

It's completely normal.

First, let me say that sucks.

Second, the bumper cover is VERY VERY easy to remove with a few tools. Click this link for the Factory Service Manual:

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/

The exterior body section tells you EXACTLY what to do to remove the cover.

Now, as far as painting. I have to believe that a body shop would charge you $200 at most to paint the cover. Probably a hundred for paint/materials and a few hours of their labor.

Hman,

Also is there a dash dismantling pic guide? I've got the directions to pull the head unit but I also need to run a iPhone/iPod wire to the center console.
you should also check out the FSM. It'll tell you all you need to know to remove every last nut/bolt/fastern on this maxima. It even tells you how to realign the body if you are in a collision!

Most Popular color combinations poll?

I'm a newbie, and found the poll as to the average age of the 7th Gen Maxima owner to be interesting. Has there been a poll to determine which color combinations (ext/int) are the most popular and which the most rare? I did a search to see if there was a thread already, but didn't find one. If there is, can somebody send me the link?

To me that does not sound right and it's almost as if you have a loose pulley somewhere. I would get it checked ASAP!
