*NOOBIES* The "I am new here, but have a question" thread..(post your questions here)
ok guys, so the other day i just noticed that i had a defrost button next to my 92 se power mirror switch. What is this button for? don't tell me its for heated mirrors cause i'm not sure if i would believe that.
yep, heated mirrors. awesome in winter, they get really warm. i never noticed it either until one day in winter i was driving with the windows open and bumped the mirror and it was cooking hot
thats crazy and cool at the same time. I never knew that my 92 would have heated mirrors. I mean, 98 i30 doesn't. This just means the price i'm gonna put the 92 at is going to go up just a tad bit more. I was searching online cause it seemed like a dumb question to ask, but i couldn't find anything about heated mirrors. I honestly don't even believe that people knew about heated mirrors or thought of it as an option back in 92

Mine did.
on the VE, heated mirrors weren't an option. They were STANDARD

thats why i love 3rd gen maximas, everyone who sits in my car is amazed how it has power seats, heated mirrors, power windows, and all the other stuff that was luxury in '92
didnt want to start a new thread over something as small as this so i'll just post it here.
are stock 3rd gen mufflers hard to remove? mine has a chunk of metal dangling from it so i bought a new cherry bomb muffler (not a crazy loud one, just the turbo)

You are going to have to cut it off..
bear with me, ive never swapped mufflers before
so all i do is cut off the old muffler, then i can clamp on the cherry bomb? or does it have to be welded? if it can be clamped, i have a guy that can help me do it Easter in a heated garage. if it needs to be welded, i'll either take it in to this small garage i know and get the guy to do it or wait til may-june and get a guy to help me weld it

I just put blue LED bulbs in my speedometer and im in the process of getting blue underglow neon put in, but I wanted to kno if I replace all the interior lights (dome, sunroof, and door lights) with blue LED ones, would it make it hard to see, if i were looking for something inside at night and turned on the light... would that effect vision negatively???

my theory is the it will be a bit harder to see since the blue is not as clear as white. im not really sure tho. i would like to see how it looks when you are done

I personally don't like the idea of a blue LED interior, so I won't make any real comments bout that. if you like it fine.
my suggestion is to get a cheap LED flashlight (one with, like, 7 white LEDs), keep it in the door, or arm rest, in case you do need to find something.
my friend was telling me that too. there is a local shop that can do it for 120 with bigger piping and mandrel bent. i would just get the carbon hks tip. what would be a good size piping? oh and what is stock, i forgot what it was
oh ok ill resize it... but yea i knew that blue was the shortest wavelength frequency but i figured the LED would boost it because the speedometer is like 4 times brighter now but i guess ill go with LED white for the sunroof lights and dome light, and blue for the doors (since they arent really effective anyway haha... but my cd deck has a LED blue display so it just triggered ideas haha
I personally would skip on the fart-can style exhaust (btw, make absolutely sure the shop puts in a resonator... otherwise, the car sound like it's got diarrhea) and go with a Flowmaster, or something. they sound really good on our cars.

besides, having a good flashlight in the car is always a good idea.
i believe stock is 2", but someone will correct me by this time tomorrow if I am wrong. I believe people have said 2 1/4 is a good size (again, not sure).

i was thinking it was 2 1/4 but im not sure. ill measure it later.
idk why i just would like my car to be a bit loud for a bit.
i wanted to get the sp2 from greddy, but it got discontinued.
oh yea I know, Ive never saw anyone do it, thats y I asked. The closest ive ever saw was neon strips and such but not the actual bulbs... but yea I have one of those police flashlights in the glove box haha just incase I break down at night or somethin...always thinking ahead

good for self defense too haha
one more muffler question. anyone know the size of the exhaust piping after the stock muffler gets cut off? i found a garage who will weld on the cherry bomb for cheap. the cherry bomb is 2.25" and i just need to know if i have to bring a adapter to make it bigger or smaller to fit the piping. worst case if noone knows i'll just pickup a few adapters and the ones that i dont use i'll just return

like what do you mean? i have the stock muffler in my room right now, its the part from the tire back, or where do you mean? if it is i will try to measure it for you right now
