As long and the brakes feel good, the MAF is strong, all your fluids are good and level then you should be fine.

Power Steering

I Have A 03 Maxima. The Power Steering Is Leaking, Anybody Else Have This Problem? Hopefully It Isnt The Presure Hose. The Leak Is Coming Out From Under The Overlay Hose To Hose That Is Connected To The Gold Part Right Bye The Strut.

There is a reset for this although I dont have it. I just push it all the way back and forward when it stops working(twice) and it then works.

PLEASE HELP QUICK--

My car is jacked up and I don't want to reassemble.

This ES FSB bushing mod is killing me. First no room, can't break bolts, got PB got them off now. Only to find the stock bushings melted and pinned in between the sway bar and SFC or whatever it is. I'm scared if I lift the bar I'll need an alignment. Please help.

I have an '02 SE and just encountered the same problem. I will be replacing that hose this weekend. If you can wait until Saturday evening to do anything, I'll let you know how it goes. I've searched the forums and can't find any evidence that many others have had the same thing.

I ran across this today. http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/tsb/NTB03-022.pdf Could this be what I'm experiencing? I just replaced the MAF and the hesitation is still there. How common is this TSB?

My apologies, I had my newbie threads mixed up, this is the problem with the 5th gen forum, 4 people quickly hop on my mistake..... meanwhile nobody even bothers to give him further advice. wtf is that./

Remove the deck and take a look at the antenna cable in the back, that's where i would start.......

what do you have Aftermarket or stock Headunit? If its aftermarket slide the Headunit out and connect the antenna wire to the Ant Remote wire...

Is there a common lag or problem on 2001 models?
I've had my SES light come up more than 3 times now. And, before I can go to autozone to get it diagnosed the SES light comes off?
I have 3 buddies that have the same issue. Is this common and what should I do?

www.maximumtuning.net it wont really help acceleration. Our 4AT's are so tall geared that you'll shift once before 60, and twice before 90 if held to redline.

the code is still stored there, even if the light turns off. Go get the code read.

O2 sensor question, Ive been running the search and cant come up with someone else that has run across this same problem but if someone knows about it please point me in the right direction. About 2 weeks ago I did a basic tune up on my 2K max has about 117K miles on it standard platinum plugs, oil change, air filter no biggie done it before. Now the car starts throwing an SES, I hook up my Auto X-ray first time I get a P0138, high voltage, so I reset it and see what happens about 3-4 days later light goes off, now its a P0139, Low Voltage, reset, then a few days later P0140, no voltage. And today another light back to the P0138. Any ideas as to why a bad sensor can throw such erratic codes or is there a problem elsewhere?

Thanks

sounds like it's time for a new 02. You need to check the stickies above to find out specifically what those codes mean in reference to the maxima.

standard a/c controls for auto climate controls?

if my car didn't come with the auto climate control unit. can i easily swap the old A/C controls for the auto climate control unit? would that be a simple plug and play? interested in doing it if it is easy.

god bless you for asking this here and not starting a thread.
this question is asked very often.

Answer
not worth the time and money since you need the following -
new climate control unit
two temp sensors
about 10 feet of wiring

soooooo a couple weeks ago my maf got cleaned and the throttle body as well. That was to get rid of how my car was dying while sitting in park.

Prior to that, and still now, my car feels so week. Driving back to college station yesterday, i floored her a few times to see how she would respond. If i'm going 70 and need to punch it a bit, she gets to about 4000 rpm and will hardly accelerate at all. The highest i could get was about 4500 rpm but it was like that was the ceiling. The lack of power up there is very noticeable, and is enough to make me think twice about passing all the dang semi's on hwy 6.

any thoughts?

sounds like you damaged the MAF, unfortunately.

your "dying when in park" is probably attributable to a bad IACV (common problem) rather than a dirty TB/MAF anyhow.

Definitly a bad MAF. Mine behaved EXACTLY like that before I replaced it.

go to www.car-parts.com and try to find one there before you head to the stealership. I found one that was practically brand new for $60. The dealershipe wanted $385.

Oh, and Irish said it might be your IACV: It's not. I thought that myself and the cleaning had no effect at all.

I changed my clock today to white with the red cellophane(sp). It's a little dim. Is the red cellophane a little too thick? Didn't seem like to me. Any solutions?
Thanks in advance.

If you alter the clock like that, it's going to seem dim. The clock light isn't that bright, and just filtering out all the colors but red'll make it look that way. You'll be able to see it better at night. Out of curiosity, you don't leave your lights on during that day, right? cause if you do, I'd suggest that you turn up the dimmer switch if it isn't already

What kind of cellophane? I'm sure that you could get much better results by using that red reynolds wrap (the food kind), because that's thin, red, and will stick great.

Just thought of something, wont the clock seem white after that? The geen numbers in the clock, + Red covering, I'm not sure, but it might look white.
