1. If am cruise down the road 2K-3500 rpm and floor the throttle there is like a 1 second delay then the car takes off like a rocket. (I am thinking this is due to electronic throttle)?
2. When cruise down the road 2-3500K 30-40 mph if I give the car half throttle or more then let off gas pedal I fill the car kind of shruge two times? It feels like the motor is moving like a broken motor mount. But feels solid as a rock when I stomp do on the gas pedal when I hotrod the car.
welcome to drive-by-wire Cable throttle FTW!

your factory harness should plug directly into the 03 TE mirror that has a compass. there are aftermarket options as well. Google it!

Would a berk midpipe bolt up also?
Frankencar isn't making maxima stuff anymore, so don't bother. Berk midpipe is identical except it's aluminum (vs. steel). It should bolt right up.

The severity of his problem leads me to believe that, in his case, it is the famed TSB.

with all the power...the slight drive by wire lag isnt that big of a deal...especially when you learn the gearing and the power band

I don't think so... but you caould always sell the 4th gen set up you had given to you for money towards a 5th gen set up

2. The car has the auto climate control. If I turn the AC on to say 70 degrees, there is no cold air. To start cold air, I have to turn to auto and set to 60 degrees which I guess kicks on the compressor - only then can I adjust the temp up and still have cold air. AGAIN - ANY THOUGHTS? tHANKS

If you turn on the FAN (it shows MANUAL on the AC display), u wont get AC. AC runs only when in AUTO mode or windshield defog.

i know we're ''supposed" to use 55w fog bulbs, but is there any harm in gettin some that draw 80 watts? i know there is a 'threat' of melting harnesses and junk, but i'm sure most of you guys do it. any insight?

Your harness will thank you later, but stick with the stock wattage. I've seen it too many times.

I can agree. Just look through the foglight thread and many of the guys are running regular 55watt fogs and they work fine. between 55 and 80 watts, the difference isn't enough to be messing stuff up

I once used stock wattage (so the label stated) fogs and it still toasted the harness Can't win for losing.

is there a way to clean carbon deposits off the valves? And what kind of risk does this build-up on the valves pose? I read about Seafoam..would that be useful for this?

ive looked all over and was wondering if there was a write up for 5th gen to 5.5gen headlights. I kno people do the conversion, i just cant seem to find a write up on how to swap the entire headlights out for the newer ones. If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

___/\_for the noob

will ES motor mounts work in an AT maxima? I could have sworn i read someone saying that you can, but on the AT max's there is an electronic motor mount insert wich makes it larger than the other. But while shopping online for the mounts there are no different ones secified for auto.

thanks

Has anyone replaced a starter? I was in a bind so I went to autozone and it seems that their remanned units are pieces of ****. I had to pay over $100 in labor because I thought I did something wrong wit hthe install. I got a 2nd starter from them and let the shop do the work and this one was even worse and actually stopped starting the car after 5 starts.

I got my money back, but now where should I go for good parts? What sucks is autozone already sent my core out so they paid me their core charge, which is less than the shop & dealer (38 vs 60). I'm pretty confident that I can do this job right, but I'm pissed the autozone part tore my flywheel up a little.

IIRC only for the MT, not AT. none are specified for the auto because they don't make any for the auto.

unless you buy an OEM starter (call DaveB), you're gonna be limited to reman'd units...

-drain and refill coolant with a mix with more antifreeze to water
-get winter tires if you live where it snows
-make sure your battery is in good shape and has good cranking power

actually what i meant to say was they were not specified at all, just 2000 maxima.

I guess i might try packing my old ones full of urethane myself w/ the 3m window weld stuff or w/e

Cattman makes an AT front mount. And for all the others, MT mounts will work.

Download WinRar and extract all those files (about 35 I think) into a folder. The IDX is your index for quick searching.

well, its possible, sure. But you need to take the entire assembly out, including the security bracket if it's installed, which is a PITA. You might also need some specialized star-head tools.

If you live in an area which gets snow and salt, wax the car. I think it will help get the snow and salt off a little easyer, and will prevent paint damage from the salt.

I recall seeing some where on the .org about a TB coolant bypass mod, but due to the site getting screwed up, now none of the searches link me up to the correct thread, so please give me info on this.

Will a stock 2002/03 stock b-pipe (resonator) & y-pipe work on a 01?

My exhasut is starting to rust and is now loud. I figure its the muffer/flange but I might as well replace much as I can and then get a shop to replace the muffer flange too.

I would love a stainless steel aftermarket one but I don't want it any louder than stock. I want to be able to talk in my car when I am at 2500-2900RPMs.

Another ?:
Where can I buy the blinker connector for 02/03 HID OEM headlight. I lost it while doing the retro from an 01. Its the lil piece where the bulb goes into and on the other side, the wire harness is plugged into. Thanks. If there is a part no. that would be sufficient.

Thanks
