That wasn't so much a flame, just more of his opinion. (and mine also)

Would it be sticking up towards the hood (if the hood were down), sticking back towards dashboard, sticking down towards ground, or sticking towards side fender? Is it a straight attachment or does it look like an elbow attachment? About how many inches is it from say the Throttle cables?

lol, I made my commentary answering his question that the lights are an easy install. Since he threw in unrelated information re: his 20s, I threw in an unrelated response re: his 20s

Reizy! Wow! Thank you very much. I'm now overwelmed with all I could ever have. This is great... I've been looking for a service repair manual for quite a while. Nissan sells one if I can remember correctly for some 250+ odd dollars? (or was that the CD?) Maybe more. Whatever it was, it turned me away pretty quickly. I'm so happy to have this series of PDF's. Now hopefully I will stop asking dingdong questions which drive the pro's and semipro's nuts propbably. Can't thank you enough!

Hey whats up guys, anyways i have a 2000 maxima auto and was wondering if it was possible for a transmission swap to a manual 6speed or 5speed? If so i was wanting to know how much this might cost and if anyone else has done this?

is it possible to replace my cloth seats with power leather ones if i find the seats and the motors? are the wiring for the motors already run under the seats or does that have to be done also?
also if heated seats are available can the switch on the console be added?

anyone know?

the wires should all be run already (i think heated seats too) and when you find leather ones they are a direct replacement, just plug those seats in

MAFS input signal circuit open

In following the FSM procedure for testing the MAF circuit I have found that the input signal circuit from MAF terminal 1 to ECM terminal 61 is open; no continuity. Now I was going to blindly replace my MAF tomorrow because of the SES p0100 code is set now. But a kind fellow, Reizy, posted a link to the FSM ( a few posts back), and I decided to take a stab at the check procedures. So now, my SES code of p0100 may not really be a physical problem with the MAF for the wiring instead.

Now my questions are... has anyone mess around with correcting wiring of this sort? Is this a big project that I should leave and let the dealership handle this? If I let the dealership handle this, should I just let them figure it out from the beginning? Or should I share what I found with them. Wouldn't that tick them off that I attempted to troubleshoot and correct this problem myself...thinking I'm trying to take away their work/jobs? Please tell me your thoughts. Thanks.

Also, after erasing the SES code earlier yesterday, it stayed off all day. Tonight when I went through the MAF check procedures, I disconnected the battery before disconnecting the ecm harnesses. After reconnecting everything and going for a short test drive (10 MIN) the SES tripped again but this time with p0147...system too lean bank 2. Could this be a result of the faulty MAF circuit? Or is the ECM trying to relearn everything and spitting whatever is most convenient first? Thanks.

I may be considering headers if my other plan to get into the 13s does not work...anyway is it safe to put headers on a relatively new engine? I have a new engine with 2300 miles from Nissan due to my previous oil burn problem. I was thinking back pressure during the exhaust stroke will change how the piston rings get seated. Just curious...

"im new here and have a question"

Im currently looking at picking up a 02-03 maxima (auto). I currently drive a cobalt SS (supercharged) and im over it, it was fun/fast, but now its no longer practical, i hate driving manual, and i hate the 2 doors, oh and the fact that its in the shop every 2 weeks ? yes literally every 2 weeks

What are the positives/negatives of these 5.5 gens?

any input is appreciated, thanks.

Pros:
More power
Bigger seats
HID headlights
Looks better

Cons:
Some VQ35's burn oil
Weak MAF
Weak wheel bearings
Weak coilpacks

...This question has been Org Vice Squaded.

I tried searching but it's quite complicated if you ask me.... so I hope I dont get flamed for asking this but.... Are 02, 03, remotes compatible with a 01?

And how are those Ebay black headlights? Krap? Or Decent? Anyone have expeirience with them?

*edit*
one more thing.... in the sunset/sunrise the dash seems quite dim, i tried turning the dash lights all the way up/down and still everything seems quite hard to see, any common mods done to this? LEDs? etc?

Ah as I thought, that's usually the general consensus with ebay parts, but there are a few exceptions.

yes, because of that reflective shield that's in your housing you want light coming out of all sides, not just a big concentration going forward. And as far as "brightness" is concerned they aren't quite as bright as the ones i mentioned. I know this because i've had both, and the people over at autolumination have confirmed this as well.

For the first question the answer to that i believe is no, because of the features that are available with the 5.5's that aren't with ours (i.e. one touch windows down capable), but someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Second question is yes, they are garbage and unless you plan to make a project out of them by replacing the projector don't waist your time.

Third, there's several memebers on here that did a complete swap with the backlighting for the gauges, do a quick search and you'll find what you need. But if it makes you feel any better, i understand and share the same pain/issue with you

I just hit a wall.

I just bought a 00max black se about a month ago.

Unfortunately earlier tonight, I banged into a small concrete wall and effed up my muffler and scratched up my back bumper. Anyone know a website where I can get a stock replacement muffler? Like EXACT stock replacement for a 2000 SE.

Help is much appreciated.

There are numerous places to get one: dealer, websites, etc. Just search for OEM Nissan parts.

In the mean time, you can read over this:
