No idea, mechanic reset the code for free and told me to get it checked out if it came back, but I get my gas filled in Oregon, and sometimes they don't shut the gas cap fully so I thought that might be a reason for the sensor always kicking on

I'm just wondering.. Has anyone, with a 3.5, replaced their own worn/faulty piston rings?

Or would it just be more simple to buy a newer block or complete engine?

I was looking for a cheap & decent quality front strut bar and came across this:

http://www.m2performance.net/product...productid=6135

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this company or the strut bar itself..

I'd go with a low mileage used engine.

Hard to tell from here, but looks pretty similar to mine and it has held up just fine for the last 4+ years.

Looks pretty close to the ebay strut bars. I have heard stories of ebay bars snapping after a certain period of use, but does anyone have experience with them. Considering they are like 25 shipped and stillin is like a sold 200. Once snaps, pop another ebay one back in....

Nice. matches your engine bay bro..thanks i mite just order one today. $35 spent on a strutbar is better than dropping $200 on a stillen one IMO.

Yep, I paid $35 from ebay for mine as well. It's held up just fine like I said.

Just bought a 2002 GLE Auto. I have two issues with the car.

1) When you tap the electric window auto button up it'll roll all the way up and then roll down 1/4 of the way and stop. You to manually roll it up with the button for it to work right.

2) Driver seat power seat works except moving it forward and backward it just clicks.

window track is dirty and causing resistance...clean it with a wet rag

Do I have to take the door panel off?

Does the power seats have individual fuses for each movement?

I also had another question. So when i drive, it always seems its not as smooth as it should be when i accelerate, like there seems to be some resistance. What are simple ways to improve throttle response. (ie. spark plgs, seafoam, etc)

Why'd they make a "5.5 Gen?"

What's the difference?

i fixed my P0135 code myself.. by replacing my O2 sensor... my car had also started making a rattling noise before i replaced the sensor.. seemingly coming from the transmission.. the car wasn't running fine.. i was stuck seemingly in 3rd gear and have the codes.. i believe P0731 and 2. or 2 and 3.. can't remember was something along the lines of GEar 1 and 2 ratios being messed up.. well the rattling worsened as i was taking it to the shop to get the fluid flushed and oil changed and i lost all power to the wheels right next to the shop(not the dealer since they price gouge like crazy here) i start the car back up. after it was making a tremendous noise to see if i can get it off the main road or at least to the side.. and bam.. i have full power.. but... now.. im stuck only in first gear.. it wont shift out of first at all no matter what.. and the sound is completely gone.. i think i had some sort of debris in the transmission itself.. something too big to get flushed out with a regular flushing.. now maybe its stuck in my "sun" gears preventing any shifting into 2nd and on? does this sound plausible? or even possible? or am i just a total newbie for even suspecting that..? just wanna know before i go through and ECM reflash and etc trying to get my gears back. if its more likely to be a debris issue ill have a different shop(not the dealer) clean it up for me. this whole AT has been a mess ever since the o2 sensor went out and then weird tranny sounds started happening.. as i said it was light knocking.. from the transmission not the engine at the start and when i was almost to the shop it was very loud then shut off restart. had 1st gear(which i hadn't had) and lost every other gear... any input (other than me being a retard for driving it anywhere, even if it was to the shop to try to fix it) would me much appreciated.

I searched and didn't see it. I don't have an owners manual on hand. How much oil does the 02 GLE take?

I put 4.5 qt in with oil filter change and it shows way over filled. I've read 3.7 and I've also read 4.5

yeah 4.5 is way over. go with 4 and an eighth. That fifth bottle will last a while.

Oh no the dip stick didn't show that I was that small amount over. It looked as if I put 8 quarts in it instead of 4 1/4.

I also read on the Maxima you have to wait a little before you check the oil so I did that and now it reads fine.

Ok so i I have a Blue maxi with completely stock exterior. I ended up buying a can of nite shades and clear coat and went to work on my front and rear side markers. I put them on and i really didnt like the look of them. Now i am considering buying 4 of the clear side markers. In your guys opinion, does it look too ricey to put clear markers on a darker car? What i am going for when im done with the max is a clean/classy look.

Like paint them with the majestic blue color? You think the smoked ones on ebay would look any better? If nothing, i am going o just remove all the nite shades and go back to the stock amber and red.

I think clears with majestic blue exterior would look decent and no way near rice.
