Hello everyone!

my coworker owns a 2003 Nissan Maxima GLE and the other day he fused out his left headlight. He bought the car from carmax so he took it there and they told him he needs a "Zenia Philips 35W" bulb to replace it. Would anyone here be kind enough to give me some information on this buld like Where can i purchase it from? Is there a generic version available?

He did install a generic one a philips 35W one and he aint satisfied cause according to him the lightening looks a lil off in color plus they charged him $200 for the bulb alone!!

Any help would be appreciated and if you can provide a link then even better

he has HID bulbs which change in color over a period of time. 200 a bulb is steep, check the GD on here. The only way to fix the variation in color of the bulbs is to but two new bulbs at once.

/\/\ Not sure what that means, the VIAS fix is not really mod so much as it is fixing the variable intake that the 00/01 Maxima's came with (regardless of transmission). The VIAS system is well written about and is the only reason 5th gens have more HP than 4th gens. It is the "-k" in "VQ30DE-K". The VIAS system kicks in at high RPMs allowing the engine to breath easier.

Glad I could help. Don't let your fingers come into contact with the bulb when installing!

Our VIAS doesn't sound like VTEC... I'm confused by your post

i'm talking about the way it was described in that link that was posted above:
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/763858/5

VIAS stands for Variable Intake Air System. It is made up of a power rod going through your intake manifold that holds a series of butterfly valves. A solenoid turns the rod at 5000 rpm to open the valves to allow the engine to breathe better

Exactly, i know all of this. VTEC uses variable valve timing which produces a sound which is more noticeable.

Got an '03 GLE - 91k miles. It's been running a touch on the rough side, and tonight on the way home I got the "check engine" light. What's it mean? Or do I have to go to the dealer?

Hi this is my frist post. I am on here trying to figure out what might be causing my mom maxima to throw differnt cylinder fault codes. it started out a cylinder 2, then moved to 3 after reseting the ECU, then after that was reset it moved to 4?

WHAT IS GOING ON?!

First, go to AutoZone and have them scan your car for codes. It's free.
Next, search.

Verify that your VIAS is faulty, whether it be through a dyno, or seat of the pants, then fix it. I would personally get a dyno.

It's most likely the coils. I had the same problem. I ordered updated coils from Dave B from Southpoint Nissan.

You don't need to go to the dealer. Have Autozone pull the codes and you can go from there

Where can I find the Wiring Diagram - Color Codes?

I searched and found nothing. I need to find out what exactly the color codes in the FSM (Service manual) are. Google helped me find some BMW ones just fine.

Like "L" huh?
and "Pu" I'm assuing its purple.

I would like an entire list of all of them if anyone knows. Much appreciated.

I'm just trying to get my AstroStart Program Utility 1 set to my Rear defogger/defroster and figuring out how the place where I got it installed, did it... rather weird I think.

From my 01 FSM:

Code:
 This shows a code for the color of the wire.
B = Black 	BR = Brown
W = White 	OR = Orange
R = Red 	P = Pink
G = Green 	PU = Purple
L = Blue 	GY = Gray
Y = Yellow 	SB = Sky Blue
LG = Light Green CH = Dark Brown
	DG = Dark Green
When the wire color is striped, the base color is given first, followed by the stripe color as
shown below:
Example: L/W = Blue with White Stripe

Yes, thats the part number. I haven't bought a MAF, but I'd try Dave B, it may be cheaper from him

Hi...I'm new to the forum. My 2002 Maxima's sunroof recently started opening on its own. I'd be driving along and suddenly I hear the sunroof opening. This has happened three times in the last two months. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have a sun roof, but IIRC the switches are on the center console. You may have hit them accidently, or something is shorting out causing it to open.

Sun roof switches are on the roof, next to the dome light. Try resetting it, do you have an owners manual? If not, download one here,:http://www.courtesyparts.com/nissan-...san-Maxima.pdf

read it, and see what it tells re: sunroof reset.

Oh. Sorry for the mistake. I thought the two blank covers on the armrest were for the sun roof.

Go inside, take a beer, and go back outside and work it through real slow, looking for what isn't letting it line up. Forcing it will only break something so take it slow.
You can always call over a .org member if you know of one in your neighborehood.
